Call me Sneaky!

Well call me sneaky, but I am going to totally take advantage of the fact that my In-Laws have asked us to scan in their family slides, and add a few of MY favorites of Ron and Twacee to this blog... I figure Hey, if they are on MY PC then their MY photos too.... lol Isn't Ron just the cutes little boy... and of course Twacee is the cutes little girl, even with her pouts...lol I know it has been a while since my last post... and I actually have some news to update on here... First of, Brandi and Bo are totally trying to take advantage of the economy and are looking to buy thier first home... Mike is doing well in School, he really has taken to photography... he is in a B&W beginners class, so he is actually hand developing his own photos... he decided to change his courses to Graphic Art & Design, instead of the Marine Biology... everybody gets to change their mind a few times to best figure out what they want to do when they grow up.... even us that wait 20 years to go back to school... lol. Mike is doing well. He is actually finishing up his Spring Break and Max just flew in last night to start his Spring Break. Max is still working at Piggly Wiggly in Merrill, he seems to like the money... I am sure not the job itself... lol. Max will be graduating next year, so he is starting to think about College and what he wants to do when he grows up. Ron and I are just the same... Ron is working, WOWING, and supporting me... he is a GREAT support for me. I get down sometimes and he is there to help me thru it. THANK YOU WONNY! As for me, well I am now in Term 3 of Nursing School, and last term I made the Deans List... I currently hold a 3.65 GPA and I am so proud of myself... its getting so much harder and I actually went UP from a 3.45 GPA which is a high B to now an A. As some of you may know I always just miss the 90 that is an A on the tests, my range seems to be 86 to 89 and for awhile there every test I was getting an 88. Some of the girls that I am friends with at school tease me about my 88... We have also moved into the hospital setting now from the Nursing home. Though that was a rewarding part of my learning, I have to say the hospital is where I want to be, and so far I have worked in Ambulatory, which is pre-op for outpatient surgeries, the postpartum and baby nursery, I totally LOVED that! Last week I was in the OR, that was sooooo interesting, I was able to actually be right in the Operating Room as they were operating on the patients. I was able to see a Total Knee Replacement, to a Pacemaker, to a gallbladder removal. I liked being involved in that as well, but my heart was still with the babies... I had the privilege to work with 2 Nick ICU nurses that have over 60 years experience between the both of them. It was amazing at how at ease they are with what they do. A baby was admitted for insufficient nourishment, because the mothers placenta wasn't functioning towards the end of her pregnancy, and the baby needed to be put on an IV and the nurse was able to get the needle in that very tiny little vein on the very first poke. AMAZING! we are talking a baby that is barely 4lbs. Though we do not actually study Maternity and Babies until next term, we are lucky to be able to get a few days for our feet to get wet this term. I just love the hospital I am at, its Garden Grove Hospital in Garden Grove Ca. its not very big at all, 7 floors is all, and the staff has been TOTALLY AWESOME! I really look forward to Wednesdays because that is when I go to the hospital for my clinical time, Wed-Fri, and its ALL DAY... 7-3:30. So, I guess that wraps it up with the California Adventurers.... Ron and I bought bikes for each other for Christmas, but we have only had them out a few times... its been on the chilly side here only getting up to 60, I know most of you are saying that is beautiful, and it is... :oP Take Care and I will be MORE diligent in my Posts.... OH yeah, I almost forgot... School is saying TENTATIVELY the date for my graduation is September 25th... I will check again with them this week, to make sure... but I know some of you are asking... I love you all..... Kat

The NEW YEAR

Hello,

Just an update.... Not really too much going on.... we are back into the swing of things here... I go to school everyday and Ron goes to work... Mike is on winter break being a bum.... His car did break down and we had to help him get a new one... he now has a car payment... lol He starts his spring semester on Feb 2nd.... and that is about it...

School is still hard. I still have a HUGE test to study for everyweek. I am doing well, I have a solid B, I have been striving for an A but its just not coming, no matter how hard I study... so I have just accepted the B. I go to clinical, which is at a nursing home for now, 3 times a week. Its ok, we are learning to pass medications and it was my turn on Friday. In Term 3 we are suppose to be having our clinical days at a hosiptal, so that will be so different. I am looking forward to that.

The weather here has been beautiful getting into the lo 80's already... for awhile there it was rainy and cool but I think that is past us now... I know back in Wisconsin the weather has been really COLD... brrrrrr, Max had 3 snow days this past week alone...

Well that is our news... I guess no news is good news right? lol well take care and be safe.... Love and Miss you ALLLLLLLLL!!!! Kat
